Curtains sit directly in the path of your AC and your windows. They catch everything that comes through both.
A full height curtain holds several square metres of fabric that never gets washed, sits where dust enters the room, and gets warmed by afternoon sun through glass. In Dubai that means a slow accumulation of fine sand, smoke residue and airborne particulate, which the curtain then releases in small amounts every time the AC pushes air past it or someone draws them. Most homes go years without a single clean, largely because taking curtains down looks like an ordeal.
It does not have to be. We steam clean curtains in place, which sanitises the fabric, relaxes creasing and removes odour without unhooking a thing. For heavier drapes, blackout linings or anything that needs a full launder, we take them down, clean them properly, and rehang them ourselves. Sheers and delicate fabrics are handled with low moisture methods that will not shrink or mark them.
