Acoustic Panel Cleaning in Dubai
The fabric is the visible layer. The dust is in the core behind it.

About this service
Why acoustic panels collect more dust than any other surface in the room
The panel is designed to let air and sound pass through it. Dust takes the same route.
An acoustic panel is a fabric face stretched over a mineral wool or foam core. It works precisely because sound is not reflected off the face but absorbed into the core behind it, and that requires an open, permeable face. Anything the air is carrying, dust, fibres, smoke, cooking odour from the pantry, passes through the fabric and settles inside the core.
This is why acoustic panels look grey long before anything else in the room does, and why wiping the face never solves it for long. The visible dirt comes off, the reservoir stays, and within weeks the face looks the same as before.
It is also why the obvious approach is dangerous. Wet clean an acoustic panel properly and you have soaked a mineral wool core that has no way of drying out in a humid building. It will smell, it will sag, and in the worst cases it will support mould growth behind a fabric face where nobody can see it.

The dust is in the core, not on the face
Acoustic foam is open cell by design. It holds air, so it holds everything the air carries, and a surface vacuum only takes the outer layer.
- Deep extraction through the cell structure
- Method tested on one panel first
- Acoustic performance not compromised

Slats and reveals, not just the face
Slatted and fluted panelling collects dust in the grooves and on the top edges, which is exactly where a general clean never reaches.
- Every groove and top edge worked
- Backing felt cleaned, not just the timber
- Timber finish protected and left dry

Refixed where it has lifted
Panels that have lifted at a corner will keep collecting dust behind them. They are refixed as part of the same visit.
- Loose panels identified and refixed
- Adhesive appropriate to the substrate
- Whole wall left flat and even
Where we see this most
- Meeting rooms and boardrooms, where panels sit close to seated head height
- Open plan ceilings with suspended baffles, which collect from above and are rarely reached
- Podcast and recording studios, where the panel density is high and the rooms are small
- Reception and lobby feature walls, which are the first thing a client sees
- Fabric desk screens and partitions, which take hand contact all day
- Restaurant and lounge acoustic treatments, which absorb cooking odour into the core
What is included
- Fibre and construction identification, and a colour fastness test on a concealed section
- Deep dry extraction through the fabric face with HEPA filtration, drawing the load out of the core rather than pushing it further in
- Near dry compound or encapsulation treatment on the face where marking requires it
- Targeted spot work on hand marks, coffee and ink
- Ceiling baffle work from access equipment, both faces and edges
- Pile grooming and edge check so panels dry true and sit correctly in their frames
- Honest assessment of any panel where the core is compromised and re covering is the better spend
How the process works
Site visit
We identify the panel construction and test. Quotes are not issued from photographs for this work because method depends on what is behind the fabric.
Written method and fixed price
Including which panels we recommend leaving alone.
Out of hours
Evenings and weekends. Studios and meeting rooms are back in use the same day.
Protection and extraction
Floors, AV equipment, cabling and furniture protected first.

Slatted timber acoustic walls
Saturate the core and it will not dry, and in a humid building that is a bigger problem than the dust.
Slatted acoustic panelling has become one of the most common features in new Dubai interiors, in villas as often as offices. The construction is always the same: timber or MDF battens mounted on a dense felt backing board, with an open channel between every slat. Sound passes through those channels and is absorbed by the felt behind, which is exactly why the panel works, and exactly why dust does the same thing.
A cloth run across the face does nothing about it. The dust is down in the channels and on the felt behind, which is often black or charcoal and hides the load completely until a light is put across it at an angle. On a backlit wall the shadow gaps make it more obvious still, because the light travels through the same channels the dust is sitting in.
These walls need a different approach again. Compressed air or a brush drives the dust deeper into the felt. Wet cleaning swells the batten ends and lifts the veneer, and on an MDF core that damage is permanent. We work them dry, extracting along each channel rather than across the face, with attention to the top edge and the shadow gap at the skirting where the heaviest deposits sit.
- Channel by channel dry extraction with a narrow HEPA tool, working with the grain
- Felt backing addressed through the channels rather than only the visible slat faces
- Top edge, shadow gap and skirting return, where deposits are always heaviest
- Concealed lighting strips and reveals cleaned without moisture near the fittings
- Timber-safe treatment on the slat faces, chosen for the finish rather than a general product
- Honest assessment where a batten has already been water damaged or the veneer has lifted
Before anything is quoted
We look at the property before we put a number on it
A price list cannot see your marble, your ducts, or the wall the afternoon sun hits. So we come and look. A senior member of the team surveys the property, and you receive a written quotation the same day, itemised, with what is included and what is not.
No obligation. If we are not the right company for the job we will say so, and tell you who is.
- 01The survey
We look at the property, not a price list. Usually the same day you ask.
- 02The written quote
Fixed, itemised, and sent the same day. What is included, and what is not.
- 03The work
A named supervisor and a crew you will see again. Our own equipment and materials.
- 04The walkthrough
We walk the property with you before the team leaves. Anything not right is dealt with then.
Frequently asked questions
How much does acoustic panel cleaning cost in Dubai?
There is no fixed rate card. Price follows the size and condition of the property, so a senior member of the team surveys it first and you get a written, itemised quotation the same day. The figure on that quotation is the figure you pay.
Who does acoustic panel cleaning near me in Dubai?
MELLS covers ninety communities across Dubai and works in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah for commercial premises. Message +971 58 656 3001 on WhatsApp with your community and we will confirm availability.
What is the best acoustic panel cleaning company in Dubai?
Judge any company on three things: whether the team is directly employed or subcontracted, whether the quote is fixed in writing before work starts, and whether a supervisor walks the property with you at the end. MELLS does all three as standard.
How quickly can you start acoustic panel cleaning?
Survey usually the same day you ask, quotation the same day, and work scheduled within forty eight hours in most cases. Urgent call outs are handled the same day where the team is free.
Is acoustic panel cleaning safe for children and pets?
Yes. Products are selected for occupied family homes as the default, re entry times are told to you before we leave, and anything stronger is only ever used with your agreement.
How do I get a quote from MELLS?
Message us on WhatsApp on +971 58 656 3001 or call the same number. A senior member of the team surveys the property and you receive a written itemised quotation the same day.
Which areas of the UAE does MELLS cover?
Ninety communities across Dubai for residential work, and Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah for commercial premises.
Can acoustic panels be wet cleaned?
Almost never, and that is the single most important thing to know about them. The mineral wool or foam core behind the fabric cannot dry properly once saturated. We work dry or near dry.
Will cleaning affect the acoustic performance?
Done correctly it improves it, because a core loaded with compacted dust absorbs less than a clean one. Done with water it destroys it.
Can you reach suspended ceiling baffles?
Yes, with proper access equipment. Baffles are usually the dirtiest element in the room and the least often addressed.
What if a panel is beyond cleaning?
We tell you, and we tell you before we start rather than afterwards. Re covering a small number of panels is often cheaper than repeatedly cleaning ones that will not come back.
Do you clean slatted timber acoustic walls?
Yes, and they need a different method again. The felt backing behind the slats holds the dust, so we extract along each channel with a narrow tool rather than wiping the faces. Compressed air pushes it deeper into the felt and moisture swells the batten ends, so neither is used.
Do you work in recording studios?
Yes. High panel density, sensitive equipment and no tolerance for moisture, which suits a dry method.
