About this service

What an emergency electrical call out actually involves

The single most dangerous habit in a Dubai home is resetting the same breaker for the third time.

A residual current device trips because it has detected current going somewhere it should not, usually to earth through water, damaged insulation or a failing appliance. It is a safety device reporting a real fault. Pushing it back up tells it to ignore the fault.

Our first action on an emergency call is to establish whether the property is safe to occupy as it stands. That is a different question from whether the power works, and it is the one that matters at two in the morning.

From there we isolate the affected circuit rather than the whole property, so you keep lighting and air conditioning while we work. Then we test: insulation resistance, earth loop impedance, RCD trip times, circuit by circuit until the fault declares itself.

Most emergency callouts resolve to one of five things. A failed water heater element leaking to earth, water ingress into an outdoor socket or garden lighting, a damaged cable behind a recently hung picture or shelf, a burnt neutral at a loose terminal, or an appliance that has failed internally. Each has a different fix and a different urgency.

Where a bad decision stays hidden longest

Plumbing, electrical and mechanical work is where an owner is least equipped to judge what they are being told, and where the wrong call stays buried in a wall for years. We show you the fault, explain the options, and quote before we touch it.

  • You see the fault before you approve the fix
  • Written quote, no parts added afterwards
  • One team, so no trade blames another

What is included

  • Same day attendance across Dubai, seven days a week
  • Immediate safety assessment before any repair is attempted
  • Total power loss and partial supply failure
  • Repeated RCD and MCB tripping traced to the actual circuit
  • Burning smells, scorched sockets and discoloured faceplates
  • Circuit by circuit insulation resistance and earth loop testing
  • Loose and burnt terminations at the distribution board
  • Water ingress into outdoor sockets, garden and pool lighting
  • Faulty isolation of water heaters and AC units
  • Damaged concealed cabling located and repaired
  • Temporary safe isolation where a part has to be ordered
  • Written report of what was found and what still needs doing

Before anything is quoted

We look at the property before we put a number on it

A price list cannot see your marble, your ducts, or the wall the afternoon sun hits. So we come and look. A senior member of the team surveys the property, and you receive a written quotation the same day, itemised, with what is included and what is not.

No obligation. If we are not the right company for the job we will say so, and tell you who is.

  1. 01
    The survey

We look at the property, not a price list. Usually the same day you ask.

  2. 02
    The written quote

Fixed, itemised, and sent the same day. What is included, and what is not.

  3. 03
    The work

A named supervisor and a crew you will see again. Our own equipment and materials.

  4. 04
    The walkthrough

We walk the property with you before the team leaves. Anything not right is dealt with then.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an emergency electrician near me in Dubai?

We cover ninety communities across Dubai. Call +971 58 656 3001, tell us the community and the symptom, and we will give you a realistic arrival time.

My breaker keeps tripping. Can I just keep resetting it?

No. An RCD trips because it has detected current leaking to earth, which is the condition that causes electric shock. Repeated resetting overrides a safety device that is working correctly.

There is a burning smell but the power is still on. Is that urgent?

Yes, more urgent than a trip. A burning smell usually means a loose termination heating up, which is a fire risk. Switch off at the main isolator and call.

Do you work inside the distribution board?

Yes, and only licensed electricians do. Board work by a general handyman is common in Dubai and it is where most of the dangerous work we find originates.

Can you fix it the same night?

Usually. Isolation and make safe are always same visit. A full repair depends on whether the part is standard, and we will tell you which it is before we start.

Will you give me the test readings?

Yes, in writing, before and after. If a company will not show you measurements, they did not take any.

How do I get a quote from MELLS?

Message us on WhatsApp on +971 58 656 3001 or call the same number. A senior member of the team surveys the property and you receive a written itemised quotation the same day.

Which areas of the UAE does MELLS cover?

Ninety communities across Dubai for residential work, and Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah for commercial premises.

Do you bring your own equipment and materials?

Yes. Our teams arrive fully equipped with professional grade machinery, products and materials. Nothing of yours is used.

Book emergency electrician in Dubai

Tell us whether it trips instantly or after a minute, and whether anything smells. Both narrow the fault before the van arrives.

The difference

Why a cheap emergency electrician job is expensive

The gap is not the price. It is what is actually reached, and whether anyone can show you it was.

The low cost visit

  • The breaker reset and the visit closed as resolved
  • A guess at which appliance is at fault, with nothing tested
  • No instruments carried, so no measurements taken
  • An unlicensed handyman working inside the distribution board
  • The symptom cleared, the underlying fault left in the wall
  • No written record, so the next person starts from nothing

The MELLS method

  • The fault located by measurement, then shown to you
  • Licensed electricians only inside the board, no exceptions
  • Insulation resistance, earth loop and RCD trip times recorded
  • The property assessed as safe or not safe, stated plainly
  • One circuit isolated rather than the whole house left dark
  • A written test record you can hand to the next contractor

Worth a look

No surprises, at any point

How the process works

01

Call and describe the symptom

Ring +971 58 656 3001. Whether it smells, whether it trips instantly or after a minute, and what was switched on at the time all narrow the fault before we arrive.

02

Make the property safe

If there is a burning smell or visible damage, switch off at the main isolator and leave it off. We will confirm on the phone.

03

Attendance and assessment

The electrician establishes first whether the property is safe as it stands, then isolates only the affected circuit.

04

Instrument testing

Insulation resistance, earth continuity, loop impedance and RCD trip timing, circuit by circuit, until the fault is proved rather than assumed.

05

Repair and re-test

The fault is repaired and the circuit re-tested to confirm it now passes. Readings before and after are recorded.

06

Written record

You receive what was found, what was done, the test results and anything still outstanding, in writing.
